How does One Equal Heart work?
We catalyze sustainable change in Chiapas and the Yucatan Peninsula by supporting projects that reflect development priorities identified by Indigenous communities, including:
Improving livelihoods, nutrition, and economic autonomy
Learn practices to grow healthy food, prepare nutritious meals, promote entrepreneurship, and generate income through small businesses.
Advancing Rights of Women & Children
Develop skills, strengthen education, and build leadership to generate dignified lives and more equitable communities.
Strengthening Language & Culture
Connect deeply with their heritage, build a strong sense of identity, and pass traditions through the power of language and cultural elements.
Environmental education and conservation
Engages Indigenous children in birding and environmental education activities to awaken respect and appreciation for their native lands and nature.
supporting access to safe water and public health services
Implement Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene systems in rural schools and provide medical and logistical support to seriously ill people when they use public health services to ensure appropriate care and a positive experience.
