IXCHEL

In 2021, in the context of the COVID health emergency, Ixchel was an initiative to monitor the health status of Cántaro Azul employees and accompany them in their medical care processes. Given the challenges observed in health services, the need arises to create a health support model, as a way to provide information and support to people to improve their transit through public health services.

In Chiapas, 76.4% of the population in Chiapas lives in poverty and extreme poverty.  When this population needs public health services, they face discrimination and mistreatment because of their ethnicity, class, and gender.

IXCHEL was created to provide people with a medical and logistical support model that seeks to improve people's experience when using public health services.

IXCHEL contributes to the improvement of the population's health through a positive transformation of public health institutions in Mexico and the support of people to exercise their right to health information and care.
